NICKLIN Environmental Policy

We take our environmental responsibility extremely seriously and we are committed to the long-term development of environmental processes and strategies. NICKLIN undertakes business in such a manner that pollution is prevented, whilst protecting and improving the global environment and, to this end, fully embrace the following principles:

  • Compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations
  • Evaluation of environmental impacts associated with products, facilities and operations- minimising adverse trends and instigating a policy of continuous improvement
  • Promotion of the use of recycled materials throughout the business, whilst encouraging employees to minimise waste in paper, timber, plastic and metals via providing recycling initiatives
  • Open communication with clients and other interested parties on environmental issues whilst operating in a manner that preserves the environment within both immediate geography and that of the marketplace
  • Commitment to act responsibly in the use of natural resources through efficient use and to instigate policies of utilising raw materials that emanate from fully renewable and managed sources wherever possible
  • Encouragement of suppliers and clients to consider the environmental implications of relevant actions and policies they undertake and, where possible, to trade only with entities who can demonstrate a responsible attitude to the environment

 

Phytosanitary (Plant Health) Standards
Registered as 'Phytosanitary' and 'Heat Treated' approved by the Forestry Commission under the UK Wood Packing Material Marking Programme (FC0001). Approval to brand timber packaging with the official mark certifying that any timber used meets prescribed phytosanitary standards inline with ISPM15 standards for timber transit packaging used in exports to participating countries.
