In line with our continued growth, we are currently recruiting for a number of new full time roles based at our Wednesbury premises.
Hours of work: 38.75hrs per week with compulsory overtime up to 48 hours when required.
General requirements: Applicants must be hardworking, reliable and willing to work to the best of their ability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, maximising quality and output at all times in a safe manner.
Automatic cross cut saw operator
Key tasks:
- Operate/ programme automatic cross cut saws, cutting timber to bespoke lengths
- Follow detailed works orders and inspect material to ensure it meets quality requirements
- Meet order demands whilst improving efficiencies and minimising waste
- Maintain performance and traceability documentation
- Keep a safe and clean working area and ensure maintenance schedules are followed and faults escalated
- Work effectively on your own initiative to maintain high levels of output, whilst adhering to Health and Safety Procedures and quality standards at all times
Knowledge and skills required:
- Experience in operating automatic cross cut saws in the timber industry or a similar fast-paced sector, e.g. steel (1 year preferred)
- Forklift licence preferred but NOT essential
Export case/crate maker
- Manufacture timber cases/ crates and pallets following detailed works orders/ drawings and build manufacturing jigs
- Inspect material to ensure it meets quality requirements
- Meet order demands whilst improving efficiencies and minimising waste
- Maintain performance and traceability documentation
- Keep a safe and clean working area and ensure hand tools are maintained and faults escalated
- Work effectively on your own initiative to maintain high levels of output, whilst adhering to Health and Safety Procedures and quality standards at all times
Knowledge and skills required:
- Experience in manufacturing timber cases/ crates (1 year preferred) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to read technical drawings
Pallet maker
Key tasks:
Manufacture timber cases/ crates and pallets following detailed works orders/ drawings and build manufacturing jigs
- Inspect material to ensure it meets quality requirements and maintain performance and traceability documentation
- Meet order demands whilst improving efficiencies and minimising waste
- Keep a safe and clean working area and ensure hand tools are maintained and faults escalated
- Work on your own initiative to maintain high levels of output, whilst adhering to Health and Safety Procedures and quality standards at all times
Knowledge and skills:
- Experience in manufacturing timber pallets (1 year preferred) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to read technical drawings
