At Nicklin we have continued to make major investments in our manufacturing plant in Wednesbury as we adapt to changing markets and move the business towards achieving our long-term net zero aspirations.

Over the past year we have invested in a new biomass plant as well as our first electric lorry, important steps in not just reducing our own carbon footprint but also that of our customers.

Most recently, we have made a significant investment in 2-way pallet automation in response to an evolution of the wider market, while also continuing to help customers meet their carbon targets.

The 2-way pallet market, which is dominated by the construction sector, has changed significantly in recent years with the ongoing trend of consolidation within the pallet sector.

As more independent manufacturers and suppliers are acquired by larger operators, so the choice for customers has diminished.

We are proud to be one of the largest independently owned pallet manufacturers in the UK and are committed to ensuring that we can deliver products at volume for all of our customer needs, which is why we have invested in a new 2-way pallet line that has significantly increased our capacity potential.

As well as remaining an independent choice for customers, we are now also the only West Midlands pallet manufacturer with a 2-way pallet line.

This means that our customers can continue to come to us for all their volume pallet needs in the knowledge that they will get all the benefits of working with an experienced independent company as well as being able to reduce their carbon miles by sourcing their pallets from a local manufacturer.
